York & Surrounding Areas - 2013 - 2014
October 2013 marked the start of my Master's programme at the University of York, where I'm reading Romantic and Sentimental Literature. During the first week (a real fresher's week), I got to travel over to Knaresborough and Harrogate, so there are a few photos from there. The other photos are from around campus.

Bradford & Todmorden - September 2013
After our trip to Heptonstall at the start of the year, one of my close friends and I decided to go out and explore West Yorkshire again.
We headed to Bradford first and looked around in the National Media Museum. Following on from that, we wanted to go Haworth, but we were at the wrong station, so we decided to go another place that had been on our minds: Todmorden. In Munich, my friend and I had watched Derren Brown's episode: Lucky Dog of Todmorden, so we thought it would be fun to go and search for the sculpture. |
Hong Kong - June - August 2013
2013 was the first year when I went to Hong Kong by myself. It meant that I could visit many more places that I had never been to like the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery and Repulse Bay. I also went to Kadoorie Farm where my sister had been working as an intern. Having just recently finished my university exams, it was great to get away and relax.

Bavaria & Salzburg - May 2013
Right after finishing my exams, I decided it would be nice to escape from Oxford for a little while. One of my friends was in Munich for his year abroad, so I ended up going there. Munich became something like a hopping-off spot for the other places that I went to, like Salzburg, Hohenschwangau and Lindau. Nevertheless, the museums and galleries in Munich were just as captivating. I've got to say, I really fell in love with Minimalism after going to Munich and Salzburg.

Oxford - 2010 - 2013
My undergraduate years were spent at the University of Oxford. I was reading English Language and Literature, and I think one of the best things about this degree was that we weren't confined to a table when we worked. Once summer came around, I always enjoyed reading in the park, or on a punt somewhere. These ventures out from the Bodleian Library (which I still love for all its quirks and fascinating 'inhabitants') meant great opportunities for photographs too.
One of my favourite things to do was actually be a tourist whenever I could. Friends visiting meant that I could go and explore Oxford with them. |
Heptonstall - January 2013
The winter holiday of 2012 - 3 was spent going through as many texts written about Sylvia Plath as possible. I managed to get through her Journals and also her Collect Poems. This period rekindled my love for her, and so, at the start of the year, my friend and I decided to pay Hebden Bridge, and Heptonstall a visit. It is in Heptonstall, a small village on top of a hill, where Plath is buried.
We got a little lost going up the hill, but thankfully we were greet by his aunt and uncle who gave us a warm cup of tea before we headed to Plath's grave. The gloomy fog really added to the atmosphere, especially when we walked past the old church which had been struck by lightning. It stood pitch black against the clouds. |
Marina And The Diamonds - February and October 2012
There's just something about her voice, her look, and her aura that makes Marina Diamandis stand out. Although I've got to say I'm not a huge fan of puns, I'm always amused and impressed by how Marina frequently gives a sarcastic twist to life. Things like "Girls just wanna have fund$", "Teen Idle" and "Shellfish B*tch" is rebellious, but witty. Likewise, however fun the song, she always has a meaning behind them. For example, two lines from Sex Yeah:
IF WOMEN WERE, RELIGIOUSLY, RECOGNISED SEXUALLY |
