Lindau & Bodensee
After visiting the mountainous area of Hohenschwangau, I felt compelled to visit a lake. Although my train got delayed and messed up my plans, I decided that I would still go, even though it meant I got back to Munich at about 1AM. Lindau and Bodensee were very quiet when I got there - it was already around 5PM. Shops were closed, and only a few people were walking around. I think it made the atmosphere even more magical. Getting out of the station and immediately being confronted by the Bavarian Lion and the Lighthouse at the opening of the harbour was truly breathtaking.
Later on, the walk around Lindau island, whilst watching the sun slowly set over Bodensee was a great time to just meditate and reflect. I sat beside the lake with a heavy heart, meditating on my Grand-dad who had recently passed away. To spend a good fifteen minutes in solitude and silence there really grounded me, and I am so glad I could escape to such a beautiful place. It will always be a blessed memory for me.
